Buerger places Le Secq’s architectural photographs in the context of his artistic approach creating his own “monument.” On the occasion of the Eastman House acquisition of a rare published portfolio comprised of twenty-five photomechanically produced pictures of Chartres using Thiel’s encre grasse process.

Another Note on Degas….6
An update to an article appearing in Image, June 1978. Buerger further comments on three glass plates in the Degas files of the Cabinet des Estampes at the Bibliothèque Nationale, qualifying them as collodion negatives probably dating before 1880. Of note are the atypical orange and green colors of these collodion plates.
